Canary’s View Manager lets you customize your views of the tables on the main site pages. You can filter the data and choose the columns you want to see. You can save multiple custom views for each page and choose one to be your default.
System Views
Canary has created one or more system views for each page. For example, on the Sites page the default system view is, “All Sites.”
The Issues page has three system views: Analyzing, New (default) and Pending Resolution. These used to be tabs, they’ve been converted to Views. The default is “New,” but you can change that anytime. Just select the view you want to use as a default--and then click the Manage View button and choose, “Make this view my default.”
Custom Views
You can create your own custom views as well by applying filters and customizing the columns – and then saving the view.
Apply Filters
For example, maybe you want to see all of your sites in a certain region. Click the Manage View button and choose “Apply filters.” Use the State filter to select one or more states:
Custom Columns
Click the Manage View button again, select “Customize columns,” and turn the “State name” column on. Important: the column configuration is saved when you save a view. If you don't save the view, you will lose the column configuration when you leave the page.
Save a View
When you’ve finished configuring the screen, choose, “Save View” (also under the Manage Views button). Give it a unique name (“Eastern Region,” in this example) and it will appear in the View selector drop-down list.
Delete a View
To remove a view, choose it in the drop-down and use the “Delete View” option under the Manage View button to remove it.
Default Views
While you are saving the view, you can check the box to make it your default view. This means that every time you come to this page, that will be the view you see.
You can change the default at any time. With any view selected, click the “Manage View” button and select “Make this my default view.”
Export
You can also export any view as a .csv file—just choose “Export” under the “Manage View” button.
